5 Movies to Look Out For (Part 1)

When i got into the office this morning, i decided to scout some of my movie sites and stumbled upon a movie (The Raid: Redemption) came out in 2011. Looking up the trailer on YouTube i was like WOW!!! Looked it up on IMDB and saw it had a whooping rating of 8.40 😮 . Hence i decided to list some movies to look out for on the big screen this year.

In a dystopian future, the totalitarian nation of Panem is divided between 12 districts and the Capitol. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal retribution for a past rebellion, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors while the citizens of Panem are required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’s young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives. The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci and its directed by Gary Ross.. From the trailer, reviews and a rating of 7.7/10 the movie is a must see… 😉

When a madman who begins committing horrific murders inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s works, a young Baltimore detective joins forces with Poe to stop him from making his stories a reality. The movie stars  John Cusack, Alice Eve, Luke Evans, Brendan Gleeson and its directed by James McTeigue. Would be released in the cinemas on April 27.

Based on the classic Hasbro naval combat game, Battleship is the story of an international fleet of ships who come across an alien armada whilst on a Naval war games exercise. An intense battle ensues over sea, land and air. What do they aliens – known as ‘The Regents’ – want? The movie stars Liam Neeson Taylor Kitsch Alexander Skarsgård Brooklyn Decker & Rihanna (yeah i know whats on your mind… She’s there) and its directed by Peter Berg. In theaters by May 18.

How can i miss out this movie? *rme…*. Nick Fury is director of S.H.I.E.L.D, an international peace keeping agency. The agency is a who’s who of Marvel Super Heroes, with Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When global security is threatened by Loki and his cohorts, Nick Fury and his team will need all their powers to save the world from disaster. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Hulk while this awesome movie is directed by Joss Whedon. The movie is slated for the big screen on May 4.

This might just be the action movie of this quarter. Lockout or MS ONE: Maximum Security is about a man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. The movie stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Vincent Regan, Joseph Gilgun, Lennie James and its directed by James Mather, Stephen St. Leger. It would hit the big screen come April 13.
