Its a wet evening in the city of Port Harcourt on Wednesday. Closing from work, i decided to head to the cinemas to watch Men In Black 3 that was showing in there. The movie was released last weekend and has beaten The Avengers to the 1st position on the box office and has so far grossed $54,592,779 (though this figure is bound to change by the weekend).
MIB3 comes back as a sequel to the almost forgotten MIB2 that was released in 2002 (10 years later 😮 ). Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and written by Etan Cohen and Lowell Cunningham, the movie stars WILL SMITH as Agent J, TOMMY LEE JONES as Agent K, JOSH BROLIN as Young Agent K, JEMAINE CLEMENT as Boris the Animal, EMMA THOMPSON as Agent O, NICOLE SCHERZINGER as Boris’s Girlfriend and ALICE EVE as Young Agent O.
In MIB3 Agent J has to go back in time to stop Agent K from being killed in the past by Boris The Animal who has escaped from his prison on the moon and plans to invade the earth.
So the movie was not bad, better than its predecessor, sweet comedy, few good 1 liners, cool action scenes and a wonderful performance by Josh Brolin.
Cinema Worthiness: Worth the watch. Go see it.
[at the top of the Chrysler Building]
Alien: [hands J a device] Here, take this, and all you have to do is jump.
Agent J: You want me to jump?
Alien: Time jump!
Agent J: All right, pay attention…
[neuralyzes a crowd]
Agent J: Okay. You know how you kids won the goldfish in that little baggy at the school fair, and you didn’t want that nasty thing in your house so you flushed it down the toilet? Well, this’s what happened…
[points to an alien fish towed away]
Andy Warhol: Dammit K, trying to blow my cover?
Agent J: Whoa, Andy Warhol’s one of US?
Andy Warhol: Who’s the dumbass?
Agent J: You know, I’d have no problem pimp-slapping the shiznit out of Andy Warhol.
Coney Island Flower Child: Hey, make love, not war.
Boris The Animal: I prefer to do both.
Agent K: Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to.
Griffin: The bitterest truth is better than the sweetest lie.
Agent K: Do you know what is the most destructive power in the universe?
Agent J: Sugar?
