Couple of years ago, one of Marvel’s finest cartoons and franchise was brought to the big screen. We all welcomed Spiderman with Tobey Maguire taking up the role of Peter Parker / Spiderman. 10 years and 3 movies later it was decide that Spiderman should be remade.
Amazing Spiderman goes back to the beginning to tell us the story of how Peter Parker and how he became the web slinging hero. In this tale, a little insight is given about Parker’s parents, how he got to grow up with Uncle Ben and Aunt May, him trying to figure out who he his and how he got to be where he his, his first crush Gwen Stacy and with him facing the villan, the Green Lizard (lizards are green aren’t they :]Y ) a.k.a Dr. Curt Connors
This new installment and remake breeds and oozes originality and brings us to closer to the Peter Parker we grew up reading and watching. There’s a lot of creativity, we see the geeky Parker (who can’t talk to a lady properly X_X , as my friend said he needs more brains), and a whole lot more. The characters act their roles so well and i must say a lot of credit must go to the actors and actresses who played their roles well and made me enjoy this movie. The effects and fight scenes were okay though i have seen better. All in all, this is one remake that was worth making.
how he shoots out his web…. Creativity and Geekness 😀
Some of the cast include Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spiderman, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as The Lizard / Curt Connors, Denis Leary as Captain Stacy, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Sally Field as Aunt May, Campbell Scott as Richard Parker & Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker. Marc Webb is the director, James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves are responsible for screenplay while James Vanderbilt has story credits to him alongside Stan Lee and Steve Ditko (Comic book writers).
Cinema Worthiness: Very very worthy 😀
Gwen Stacy: How did you get up here?
Peter Parker: The fire escape.
Gwen Stacy: That’s twenty stories.
Peter Parker: Your doorman’s intimidating.
Miss Ritter: Peter, don’t make promises you can’t keep.
Peter Parker: But those are the best kind.
Ben Parker: [to Gwen] He’s got you on his computer! I’m his probation officer!
Gwen Stacy: [about Peter] He’s one of Midtown Science’s best and brightest. He’s second in his class.
Peter Parker: Second?
Gwen Stacy: Yeah.
Peter Parker: You sure about that?
Gwen Stacy: I’m pretty sure.
Car Thief Cop: Freeze! You in the tights, don’t move!
Spider-Man: You serious?
Car Thief Cop: Who are you?
Spider-Man: No one seems to grasp the concept of the mask…
[Peter walks towards cop]
Car Thief Cop: Freeze!
Spider-Man: [dodges] I just did 80% of your job, that- that is how you repay me?
[throws cop’s gun under car]
Gwen Stacy: Did you get expelled?
Peter Parker: No! No, I didn’t get expelled, I got community service.
[They smile at each other and wait around awkwardly, then Gwen turns to go]
Peter Parker: Um so, uh, you want to, uh… I dunno.
Gwen Stacy: Wanna what?
Peter Parker: I dunno. Just, uh… Um… I dunno, we could, I dunno, we could uh… Or we could do something else, or we could, with no… We, like, we could…
Gwen Stacy: [Smiling] Yeah!
Peter Parker: Yeah?
Gwen Stacy: Yeah, either one.
Peter Parker: Really?
Gwen Stacy: Sure.
Peter Parker: Okay, all right then. Sounds good.
Gwen Stacy: Cool.
That’s all for now folks.
