THE BRAINS: RED 2 is directed by Dean Parisot, written by  Jon HoeberErich HoeberWarren Ellis & Cully Hamner and stars Bruce Willis as Frank, John Malkovich as Marvin, Mary-Louise Parker as Sarah, Helen Mirren as Victoria, Anthony Hopkins as Bailey, Byung-hun Lee as Han Cho Bai, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Katja and Neal McDonough as Jack Horton. Check the trailer below.

THE PLOT: RED 2 picks off from where RED left off with Frank Miller & his elite team of operatives on a global quest to track down a missing portable device.

THE ANALYSIS: RED 2 is a wonderful action comedy that keeps you entertained all along the way. The plot is cool and i believe will sit well with most writers and viewers. The action scenes were quite cool with some scenes leaving me with the expression of “did that just happen?”. Character wise, apparently the best are still at the top of their game, i must commend them as their performance was above average. Notable mentions must be made for John Malkovich performance because he was just outstanding.

FINAL JUDGEMENT: RED 2 is a movie meant to entertain and not meant to be taken to seriously. Just go in watch it and have fun. 🙂

RATING: 6.5/10

CINEMA WORTHINESS/ REWATCHABILITY: Worth seeing once in a cinema and maybe a few times more on your Blu-Ray/DVD player.

Marvin: If there’s one thing I know, it’s women and covert operations.
Frank: Marvin, that’s two things.
Han Cho Bai: No, grasshopper. It is not.

Marvin: What happens in the Kremlin stays in the Kremlin!

Han Cho Bai: You owe me $30 million for my plane and $20 million for not killing you. Your a dead man Frank Moses.

  1. The first one was no masterpiece, but at least it actually showed some effort in trying to be fun and exciting. This one on the other hand, just felt like a bore. Good review.

    1. Thanks… I enjoyed the first one also… With the way the year has been I take most movies at face value in order not to get disappointed or have high expectations…

  2. Nice review. Like you said, its a movie to just sit back and watch with your buddies. Not to be taken seriously. Mary louis parker was also very much fun. She is crazy. Look at the last scene. I had fun seeing the movie. It gives guilty pleasure.
