What better movie to make the 100th post on the blog? 😀
It’s a Gravity review.
THE BRAINS: Gravity was directed by Alfonso Cuarón, written by Alfonso and Jonás Cuarón and has a cast consisting of Sandra Bullock as Ryan Stone, George Clooney as Matt Kowalski, Ed Harris as Mission Control (voice), and Phaldut Sharma as Shariff (vocie).
THE PLOT: Dr. Ryan Stone is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes via debris. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone – tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness of space.
THE ANALYSIS: Firstly i need to see this movie in 3D. This movie speaks for itself with a high level performance and some heart gripping, high-octane paced scenes. Permit me to say this is Sandra Bullock’s best performance i have seen. Goodness me!!! She played her role and played it so well i actually related to her character. The same goes for George Clooney. Alfonso must be given credit for a wonderful script and directing. I personally nominate him, Bullock for Best Director & Best Actress. The CGI was great, the sound & scores were awesome, and i must mention i loved what the team did with the visuals ranging from the first person view to the third person view. Kudos to the post-production team.
FINAL VERDICT: Gravity is a great movie and had a lot going well for it from start to finish. 9/10
Matt Kowalski: Houston, I have a bad feeling about this mission.
Mission Control: Please elaborate.
Matt Kowalski: Well, it reminds of a story.
Matt Kowalski: Half of North America just lost their Facebook.
Ryan Stone: You’re losing altitude fast, Tiangong. You keep dropping and you’re going to kiss the atmosphere. But not without me, because you’re my last ride.
