Star Wars: Episode 7 has revealed its full title – it will be called Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The news arrived in a tweet from the official Star Wars account, which also announced the completion of principal photography on the much-anticipated project.
The film, directed by JJ Abrams and with a cast including Harrison Ford, Lupita Nyong’o, and Max von Sydow, started shooting at the UK’s Pinewood studios in May 2014, but was forced to shut down for a fortnight in August after Ford suffered a broken leg on set. Internet observers have avidly chronicled any supposed leak from the highly-guarded shoot, including an accidental picture of what looked like a half-constructed Millennium Falcon at Greenham Common in Berkshire.
Rumours as to the title began circling almost as soon as the film went into production, with “The Ancient Fear” supposedly under consideration. This, however, now proves unfounded.
