[Trailer Review] The Foreigner

So I am on my regular web hunting and I go on YouTube and stumble on this movie trailer titled “The Foreigner”. You can watch it down below;

A little recon shows the director to be Martin Campbell (director of Mask of Zorro, Goldeneye & Casino Royale) and has a cast comprising of our favourite on-screen martial artist, Jackie Chan and the most classy (debatable but true) James Bond, Pierce Brosnan.

From the trailer, the plot revolves around a father who is determined to get revenge for his daughter killed in a bomb blast. The authorities seem to not be taking the incident seriously, hence forcing the father (Jackie Chan) to take matters into his own hands.

Now the plot seems cliche (Taken anyone???) but what makes it appeal to me is the fact that we get to see Jackie Chan take on a serious role that might have no comic appeal. He portrays a father who is grieving and would do anything good or bad to eliminate the source of his grief.

Subsequent trailers would tell me if I should go see this in the cinema or wait till it’s released on Blu-ray but knowing myself and based on this first trailer, I would obviously want to see this when it comes out in the cinema.  According to IMDB, the movie is slated to release on the 30th of September, 2017.

Are you excited about this movie as I am? Share your thoughts with me below.
